P.F. Chang’s, Maggiano’s, and Tommy’s go gluten free.

By admin // Maggiano's Little Italy // No Comments

But some restaurants have to take extra precautions. P.F. Chang’s China Bistro at the St. Johns Town Center has an extensive gluten-free menu, and operating partner Geoff Atherton said the restaurant is well-prepared to ensure those items are not contaminated by gluten on other dishes.
“We have a whole station in the kitchen dedicated to gluten-free,” he said.

The station includes separate woks with colored tags to ensure they are not used on other items, and P.F. Chang’s even has separate plates it uses to serve gluten-free dishes.
Meanwhile, in a pizza place, dust from pizza dough can easily fly through the air. But Tommy d’Esterhazy of Tommy’s Brick Oven Pizza makes every effort to see to it that his gluten-free pizzas are not contaminated. He understands the need because he is gluten-free himself.

“We prepare all of our toppings that are going to go on the pizza in a separate area,” he said. The pizzas are placed on parchment paper before going in the oven to ensure that they don’t pick up leftover gluten. “There’s no chance for it to touch the stone,” d’Esterhazy said.

Even restaurants that don’t have gluten-free menus can offer safe dining experiences for celiacs.

“Basically, we can make almost any dish gluten-free,” said Pam Butterworth, maitre d’ at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant in the St. Johns Town Center. Maggiano’s uses gluten-free corn pasta to substitute for regular pasta.

Digital motion x-ray near Jacksonville Town Center

Digital Motion X-Ray

4617 Brentwood Ave
Jacksonville, FL, 32206-6168

Digital motion x-ray here in Jacksonville Florida involves the use of either film x-ray or computer-based x-ray ‘snapshots’ taken in sequence as a patient moves. Older Film x-rays that they would have taken at Baptist, St Vincents, or Methodist in Jacksonville are digitized into a computer for manipulation while computer-based x-rays are automatically created in a digital format. The digitized snapshots are then put in order using a computer program and played on a video monitor, creating a moving image of the inside of the body. This moving image can then be evaluated by a physician alone or by using a computer that evaluates several aspects of the body’s structure such as intervertebral flexion and extension to determine the presence or absence of abnormalities.

Come see Dr McGowan at Digital Motion X-Ray of Jacksonville to experience the next wave of X-ray technology. Digital motion x-ray see things that MRI’s can;t see and your insurance is welcome!

Dynamic spinal visualization is a general term addressing different imaging technologies, including digital motion x-ray and videofluoroscopy (also known as cineradiography). These technologies allow the simultaneous visualization of movement of internal body structures, such as the spine (vertebrae), with corresponding external body movement. All of these methods use x-rays to create images either on film, video monitor, or computer screen. These technologies have been proposed for the evaluation of spinal disorders including low back pain.

Videofluoroscopy and cineradiography are different names for the same procedure that uses a technique called fluoroscopy to create real-time video images of internal structures of the body. Unlike standard x-rays that take a single picture at one point in time, fluoroscopy provides motion pictures of the body. The results of these techniques can be displayed on a video monitor as the procedure is being conducted as well as recorded to allow computer analysis or evaluation at a later time. Like digital motion x-ray, the results can be evaluated by a physician alone or using the assistance of computer analysis software.

We are happy to do Digital Motion X-rays for anyone, in any city including:

Whiskey River and local Teen help Roll Tide

While collecting donations for her University of Alabama classmates who were ravaged by an April 27 tornado, Lizzie Danner found help from some unexpected sources — including a past star of ABC’s The Bachelorette and a former girlfriend of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

“I’ve had people all around the U.S. asking how they can help and what they can send,” said Danner, a Ponte Vedra resident and college senior.
Using connections through friends and relatives, Danner caught the attention of Trista Sutter, ABC’s first Bachelorette, and Izabella St. James, author of a memoir about life at the Playboy mansion.

St. James, Sutter and other Bachelorette stars tweeted about Danner’s efforts and generated some national recognition.

“I woke up with over 120 direct messages just from the tweets,” she said.
Working alongside her sorority sister Katie Griscom, Danner has been urging local businesses, schools and churches to collect donations since she returned from the school nearly a week after the category F-5 tornado — an event she won’t soon forget.

Griscom’s house in Jacksonville, but she was overwhelmed with support. Donations flooded her garage and house.

ey River, a restaurant and bar at the St. Johns Town Center, was already planning to work with the University of Alabama National Alumni Association of Jacksonville and offered to accept donations instead.

“We are lucky enough to have a large storage space,” said Angela Connor, Whiskey River sales and events manager.

Connor added that Whiskey River will host a concert, silent auction and fundraiser for the college at a later date.

Danner is overjoyed at the response she has received.

“I’m so thankful that there are so many people who want to help and reach out,” she said.

She noted that they have received too many clothes, and asks people focus on sending things like toiletries, items for babies, batteries, flashlights, water and other items.

“I don’t want to sound arrogant but we could use anything besides clothes,” she said. “We could clothe the city of Tuscaloosa [Ala.] with the amount of clothes we’ve received.”
