A new gourmet cupcake store that offers 30 flavors has donated $8,233 in grand-opening proceeds to Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida. The nonprofit trains girls in grades 3-5 to run a 5K while teaching them values and a healthy lifestyle. SweetByHolly, a gourmet cupcake and frozen yogurt store, recently opened in St. Johns Town Center. Owner Hollis Wilder is a two-time winner of “Cupcake Wars” on the Food Network.

Ruckus live at Jacksonville Town Center’s Alive After Five

Ruckus will be performing at Jacksonville Town Center’s Alive After Five which takes place at Whisky River, Suite Nightclub, and Black Finn Jacksonville in the Markets at Town Center. That is the section of the mall closer to Bento, Moochi, Chipolte, Panda Express, Pollo Tropical, and Zaxbys.

Ruckus combines talents from musical spectrums spanning from Rock & Roll, Country, Blues and Southern Rock featuring both acoustic and electric styles and have established notoriety in and around North Florida and South Georgia.

Ruckus is known for blending intricate harmonies, performing high energy interactive sets of their own songs and select covers of influential bands frequently compared to artists such as, The Eagles, Rascal Flatts and Diamond Rio.

I’m not writing a full review of Mochi Frozen Yogurt in Jacksonville Town Center this anytime soon, so here is a quick recap:

Mochi FROYO (frozen yogurt)

You go there, Mochi Frozen Yogurt in St. Johns Town Center give you a sample cup and you try lots of different flavors of frozen yogurt for free and it’s non-fat.

Then you pour yourself a cup of Mochi frozen yogurt and cover it with your favorite toppings and then they weight it.

I had 2 cups. Yes, I went back for seconds. I couldn’t gauge how much to pour and it is THAT good.

$3.15 – original flavor frozen yogurt with sliced almonds, mangos, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and original flavor mochi (Japanese rice paper)

$2.88 – raspberry flavor frozen yogurt with waffle cone chips, rice krispie treats, captain crunch, almonds, strawberries and more original mochi (also available in green tea flavor and strawberry)

Mochi itself is delicious (like a gummy candy but better) and if you haven’t tried it, you should! They will let you sample a piece before you cover your yogurt in it and pay for it. The yogurt is top-notch, creamy and not watery and the staff is super-pleasant.

is home to a new frozen yogurt shop. Mochi in St. Johns Town Center’s yogurt is 100 percent fat- and cholesterol-free. Mochi has eight different flavors, which vary every week.

The frozen yogurt is self-serve with bar toppings that range from fresh fruit to candy to cereal. Toppings will also change regularly. Because it is self-serve, payment is based on weight, so a regular serving runs about $3 to $4.

Mochi is open from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., even on Sundays, and is located at 1860 Big Island Drive in the Town Center near Toys R Us and Best Buy.

You may be asking where did Yogaberry in Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center go? I love yogaberry and was very sad to see that they had closed their doors at Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center. All the low fat deliciousness with the fresh fruit really made sense for something my kids will eat, and at least be a little bit healthy.

Yogaberry’s latest endeavor Yobe at Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center, is just like Yogaberry but is self serve, much like the competeing Mochi frozen yougurt store about one quarter a mile away in Jacksonville’s St. John’s Town Center. I believe the options for dessert in Jacksonville town center are only going to get more competitive which always means better and cheaper!

Paying for your frozen yogurt by the ounce, you can add diced fruit including strawberry my favorite, chopped candy like Reece cups, crushed granola, and lots and lots of big nuts.

Yobe also offers waffle cones for an old fashioned walk through the Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center harkening back to old Americana where the ice cream was high carb, and there weren’t more automobiles than people.

Unlike the malt shops and ice cream parlors of yesteryear, Yobe’s decor is all white and very chic. Think about what a frozen yogurt place would look like if it were run by the Apple Store at Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center.

Yogaberry has locations throughout the city including Ponte Vedra Yogaberry, Mandarin Yogaberry, and Jacksonville Beach Yogaberry at 311 North 3rd Street.
