Quizno’s Dancer changes Teams – Dancing for Whisky River!

By JMartin  //  Restaurants in Town Center, Whisky River  //  Comments Off

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — He became pretty famous for his work at the St. Johns Town Center, dancing with a Quizno’s sign. He’s back.

David Nguyen, 19, wore the shoulder-strapped sign advertising the sandwich maker, and made sure he was noticed.

He didn’t just wave and smile. He danced. And danced, and danced and danced.

Then the Quizno’s closed and he was out of work.

He’s back on the street with a new sign over his shoulders: Whisky River.

The new club at the Town Center hired Nguyen, who said he’s happy to be back doing what he does

“Life is short,” he said. “I just want to be happy every day.”

He listens to music to help him find the rhythm, and he got lucky today. “It feels really good outside.”

Nguyen said he’s glad to be working on Labor Day at St. Johns Town Center, saying if he had the day off, it would be a “day wasted.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and company plan to open a new location of  Whisky River in Jacksonville Town Center night club in spring 2010  in Jacksonville, Fla. The club will be located in The Markets at St. Johns Town Center on the city’s Southside. Whisky River in Jacksonville Town Center Opened in March 2010 it was an amazing grand opening date.
Not that Junior asked my opinion, but it would sure make more sense to me to open the Whisky River in Jacksonville Town Center during Daytona Speedweeks. Jacksonville isn’t too far from the track and just think about all the hype you could drum up for the big opening night of  Whisky River in Jacksonville Town Center. Plus, an appearance by Dale Jr. himself sure wouldn’t be bad for business.
