You may be asking where did Yogaberry in Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center go? I love yogaberry and was very sad to see that they had closed their doors at Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center. All the low fat deliciousness with the fresh fruit really made sense for something my kids will eat, and at least be a little bit healthy.

Yogaberry’s latest endeavor Yobe at Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center, is just like Yogaberry but is self serve, much like the competeing Mochi frozen yougurt store about one quarter a mile away in Jacksonville’s St. John’s Town Center. I believe the options for dessert in Jacksonville town center are only going to get more competitive which always means better and cheaper!

Paying for your frozen yogurt by the ounce, you can add diced fruit including strawberry my favorite, chopped candy like Reece cups, crushed granola, and lots and lots of big nuts.

Yobe also offers waffle cones for an old fashioned walk through the Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center harkening back to old Americana where the ice cream was high carb, and there weren’t more automobiles than people.

Unlike the malt shops and ice cream parlors of yesteryear, Yobe’s decor is all white and very chic. Think about what a frozen yogurt place would look like if it were run by the Apple Store at Jacksonville’s St. Johns Town Center.

Yogaberry has locations throughout the city including Ponte Vedra Yogaberry, Mandarin Yogaberry, and Jacksonville Beach Yogaberry at 311 North 3rd Street.

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but tomake it that far you have to be disguised as baked goods. Today’s Groupon pierces hearts with cookie spears: for $6, you get $12 worth of made-from-scratch delectable treats and eats at A Sweet to Eat Bake Shop, located on Gate Parkway.

A Sweet to Eat Bake Shop’s menu features all kinds of handcrafted creamy, crunchy, and cupcakey creations. The shop’s signature chocolate chunk cookies are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, speckled with hunks of Belgian chocolate, and sprinkled with just a dash of sea salt for a rounded-out finish ($2.25 each). Defy the same misguided masses who said you couldn’t milk a lizard, and have dessert for breakfast with a bite of fruit rugelach (three for $2), a Linzer torte slice ($3.99), a buttery, balanced scone ($1.25), or a neatly wrapped cannoli ($2.25). Cupcake flavors include red velvet, strawberry, and lemon, with buttercream headdresses offered in shades of vanilla, peanut butter, cream cheese, strawberry, and more ($2 each, bite-size $0.50 each). Lure unsuspecting neighbors into cleaning your caramel-sauce-filled pool with an aptly placed pie on the windowsill; choices include the key lime pie ($24), the tried-and-true apple lattice ($20), and the svelte, sugar-free apple lattice ($20). A Sweet to Eat also presents a large cake selection (starting at $24, cookie cakes $15) and a selection of savory snacks such as individual servings of cheesy popcorn ($1.50), roasted nuts ($3), and homemade Chex mix ($1.50).

Chef Elizabeth of A Sweet to Eat Bake Shop formerly worked at New York City’s acclaimed Magnolia Bakery before bringing her talent for satisfying sweet teeth down south. Unlike competitor bakeries, whose cupcakes are iced in the likeness of John Belushi, her confectionaries are as pretty as they are tasty, with colorful sprinkle options, festive cupcake decor, and elegantly topped tortes.
